The feeling

As I sit and stare at them, children taking notes; I often wonder what they might be thinking. Sometimes, I so wish to read their minds. But then, that's just if I could, really.
Each of them has a different expression and to top the confusion- their lips are always murmuring those mute sounds.

Often it feels like they are talking within themselves. And how could they not? All those activities that they get involved in all the time, must be reviving just about now and then.
The funny thing is, I can actually see myself in all of them; bit by bit which kind of completes my sinister days as a timid boy. Sitting in one of the corner with books piled up, writing on teacher's command and making faces behind teacher..... ahhh the feeling; so very fresh.

Often, its said, 'student's life is a golden life.' Funny because it sound like an old familiar cliche, for hearing out time and again, but couldn't really understand the true meaning of it as a youngster.

Now as I stand and scribble on board with thirty-five or so children attentively following my every move; times are all different. Even the feelings are different.
Someday, they too will feel like me- I shrug and continue......
