Ngag-tang wang; phallus blow-job

So there was this religious ceremony  Called drub in our locality right? And all of us, the staffs of the school went to offer our divinity. Then the most bizarre thing happened. The huge mask-dancer flashed a 12 inch long wooden phallus and rubbed in our mouth. And I mean literally in all of the mouths of the people present there. Now isn't this little weird?

The guy forcefully made us to give blow-job to his precious wooden phallus in the name of some religious ceremony. And nobody seemed to mind it. Classic Bhutanese us. Pelden Drukpa Gaylo!

What's more interesting in the whole act is that the ladies were least spared. They were handsomely cleansed of their immoral sins with that phallus brushing. Felt little disturbed though, for being a science teacher.

Well what's the benefit of that ngag-tang wang anyway?
Believe it or not, the myth has it that it cleanses one's sin, for it portrays the invaluable act of Lam Drukpa Kinley (the divine madman)

P.S: ngag-tang means penis...

Precious lizard; Tokay Gecko

What? Now wait a minute! Was it illegal for all this time? God, I would have never known if it wasn't for today’s news.

Now, it has been quite some time that I have seen most of the people down at Samdrup Jongkhar scrambling from wall to wall looking for this precious lizard. Well I dared to ask few  about it and all I could decipher from their  hard search was that they earned quite a stack of money from just few of those small black spotted lizard.

Tozay Gecko! It has got a name too, for crying out loud. I even clicked a picture of it in my cell phone at one time and showed it my colleagues. We had a long session of talk for its value in the black market.
Word in the street is that some Indians from the nearby border would come and collect the catch with loads of money. But hunting these precious creatures isn't a walk in the park, I suppose. They had to dig all the concrete walls hunting for just a few.

Next time you visit the Samdrup Jongkhar town, I reckon you check the walls. It’s almost finished digging. Who wouldn't right? It’s all money but should remember; it’s illegal for good.

some things are best left- out!

There are certain things which needs a rational explanation. Like why do we actually laugh? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Etc. But more simple than that are the following two false memories!

Everyone has the memory of looking at the clock and finding that the second hand is standing still for a brief moment. Well the term  has a name and it's called chronostasis!
It's said that our brain has a tendency to create a false memory which tends to make us believe that the time is stretching little backward. So next time you feel the same it's just a false memory. No big deal.
Another false memory is when we look at the mirror and stare at our own eyes, trying to shift from one eye to the other. We won't feel that our eyes are moving but the other person standing as the observer will notice the slight movement of our eyes. This temporary blindness is caused due to saccades. Interesting?

learning to accept life......

Once a bird asked a bee. You know, you spend hell of a time making honey only to be stolen by those selfish men at the end. Don't you feel bad? To which the bee replied, "well never, and why should I? They sure can steal my honey but never -the art of making it. Now, question! Didn't this prose ring a bell on you? To spill out the bean, this kind of  things happen to all of us all the time.

Some of us  work the freaking shit out only to see some lame horse taking all the damn credit. That's why I say, it isn't wrong to believe when somebody said, "the first and the only rule of a life is; it isn't fair."

Tell you what? We say, "bear eats the corn and monkey gets stonned" classic epitaph! Some people really can butter up the bosses like a banjo in old Joe's rusty hand. Sometimes I do wish my life to be a kind of movie premiere, for in those movies, good begets good alas. Curse me my lord,.,,.,

Crazy but immediate solutions to solve INR crisis

Alright now lets get little critical here. And why not? The Government is cutting all the loose ends just to save the country's neck from drowning in excessive INR crunch. The ministers are to be paid the minimum of the wage according to the valid sources. Well that's one of the few glistening face of politician serving the people in a real sense.

So we know that the country has a HUGE INR CRUNCH right? But what are we doing about it, than simply relaying solely on the Government to fix it. Aren't we as a citizen responsible, just the same? I thought so. Of late we know that our new Government is pumping in five Billion from India to ignite different plans to swing into action. isn't this going to add up to the already existing crunch? After all it's the Indian currency at large.

I feel that if we really care then perhaps we need to dare a bit in our lifestyle so that together we can help ourselves to save all the shortcomings altogether. So below are some of the small things that can help solve the INR crisis, if taken seriously I believe.

  1. Cut the supply of chips and cookies in the shops: My son alone empties 3 - 4 packets of chips a day. Imagine how much all children in the entire country are consuming? And these junk foods are all imported from India. Cutting short of these unhealthy edibles would not hamper much on anything rather than saving our children's health as well as rupee outflow.
  2. Kitchen garden for all:  There are huge lands converted into a luxurious garage and parking in most of the town areas. These people are solely relying on the market for the vegetables which the market imports from India. So instead of the garage and parking, if these areas are turned into a garden, it could save all the hassle of running to the market to waste money which indirectly goes off to INDIA.
  3. Shop from within: Just to save few hundreds, our people are all going down to the border towns to bargain petty goods. Which I think can be done within ourselves. (not all atlest)
  4. Walk again: At one point, all of us were walking merrily. But then the cars started becoming necessity for all due to Bank's affordable loan system. Now that the petrol prices are sky-rocketing, why don't we all walk again merrily so that we save our budget and also health?
  5. Local (ARA): Alcohol is much loved by all that too beer. Even the people in the community seem to fancy drinking beer which costs nearly a hundred. Instead of bottling a dozen and wasting huge chunk of budget why don't we switch back to our locally brewed wines? (ARA, BANGCHANG and SINGCHANG)
To be continued.............

Annihilating Dzongkha - Live

These days, extreme Politic enthusiasts are live on National Television with just one reason in their mind; campaigning to win! Well, not anymore, I would say. These people are slaying our National language live on telecast and nobody seems to be caring. Infact every one seems to be enjoying it night after night taking it to be some sort of idiotic parable.

I thought they had to have atleast a degree qualification so as to contest or I rather guess not. Oh, for heaven's sake, is Dzongkha really a rocket science? Yes, many would agree, that it's little hard writing but not for any reason - speaking. Otherwise what's left to flaunt ourselves as Bhutanese afterall?

God, I really wish that these people are made to sit for some sort of Dzongkha Proficiency test or something before they actually think of contesting. That would atleast set some level though and save themselves from jabbering jargon.

I cannot in the wildest of my dreams imagine them speaking as a guest infront of our children in the schools, if for some mad cow's reason get elected.
Well folks, its really about time that we change for good. Democracy should be for a change so why not start from the contestants, shall we?

Piling the dirt of Politics

For the record, there wasn't much of any conspiracy against anyone, let alone the nagging blame game that's going on these days.

First there were five parties and within the election onset second, one got kicked out and that too on a lame not so valid account. I was like.....What the hell? Hello.... if they were to be kicked out, why so much of those whiny request from the Election Commission to form as many parties as possible, in the first place! (I know nobody would answer that)

Then there were four left, not to mention two couldn't even persuade the voters (mostly illiterates) for choosing the woman president. (Another socialistic undiminished discrimination against the woman)

Ultimately, the Primary round knocked out the two not so popular parties off the list for good. Now I ask, didn't anyone see that coming? I mean, they were after all fighting the loosing battle, for heaven's sake. (Nyamchung style sucked more like a Gangnam style after all) Oh! I cannot even force to laugh than to feel sorry for them.

Then the two already established parties are left- heading for the final general round but not with a good intention, I suppose. What happened next? Nobody could have seen it coming; HORSE TRADING! Can they do that? I mean isn't this what we call a coalition? Are the Election officials going brain dead now?  Half of the civilized country men and women believe that, it's an ultimate coalition party, except for the Election officials. Wow, somebody please give them a gold medal fast!

What followed next is no better than a complete social tyranny. Politicians plotting childish conspiracy against each other are making the headlines today. (Good going GNH bureaucrats, we are getting there.)

In search of power, ARE WE NOT LOOSING OUR HUMANITY MY FELLOW COUNTRY MEN?

Preciousness in one

There she stands, red as blood, dancing in solitude
Yet glistening her natural beauty to the roaring wind
Everyone who's ever been to Ramjar
Digs under cover from the passing Mr. wind
But say whatever for she stands tall
Defying the odds of he who tries to shy her off
      Its no use Mr. wind
As she's pure as she portrays
One can feel her presence from yard's distance
For she isn't withering anytime soon
Oh! mother of love, isn't she beautiful?
My mind yearns to ask; aren't you ever lonely?
For you're all one in over field's distance
But I know too well without her answering
That it's in the solitude with which she mesmerizes onlookers
Nobody dares to touch her even with love
And who could? for she's just one
Even seasons seem's to be in no hurry, why?
      Oh, I forgot..... She's rose, isn't she?

Jack-ass me

Well, first I received a call from an Election office (Trashiyangtse) saying that, I ought to report on 18th April at the Dzongkhag for a refresher's course, for an Election duty. Then  when I finally reached there, my name wasn't on the list. What the f***k?

At first I thought that it was one of those blunders that must have occurred, probably a typing error and they would however list my name there if I asked. But No, I was wrong. They took it like some kind of April fool prank. I mean I became a living jack-ass among some hundred civil servants up there and they freaking didn't care. Can they do that?

I had to literally walk some knee dropping ascents down the hill and hitch a ride to the Dzongkhag and for what? To become a big JACK-ASS! I don't really get it. Is this fair?
No, I am not saying that I should have  gotten an Election duty here, no I am not. But having endured so much pain and sacrificed my time, not to mention the cash invested; I really felt that I deserved a more professional and logical explanation there.
Those  eerie statement still rings in my ear even now. "well, no problem. Have lunch and go." If it weren't for those crowd, I would have shouted like, "Do you think that I have come all the way to have some freaking lunch?"

From what I believe, they must have replaced us with some dear and near friends. But then a call would have saved all the trouble.....

The feeling

As I sit and stare at them, children taking notes; I often wonder what they might be thinking. Sometimes, I so wish to read their minds. But then, that's just if I could, really.
Each of them has a different expression and to top the confusion- their lips are always murmuring those mute sounds.

Often it feels like they are talking within themselves. And how could they not? All those activities that they get involved in all the time, must be reviving just about now and then.
The funny thing is, I can actually see myself in all of them; bit by bit which kind of completes my sinister days as a timid boy. Sitting in one of the corner with books piled up, writing on teacher's command and making faces behind teacher..... ahhh the feeling; so very fresh.

Often, its said, 'student's life is a golden life.' Funny because it sound like an old familiar cliche, for hearing out time and again, but couldn't really understand the true meaning of it as a youngster.

Now as I stand and scribble on board with thirty-five or so children attentively following my every move; times are all different. Even the feelings are different.
Someday, they too will feel like me- I shrug and continue......

It's about time

Each day is a lesson, I say
For life is uncertain, they say
Today's just been like yesterday
And tomorrow would be no better
How I wish, I could live care free
If only I had less obligations to spree
Oh! am tired beyond clouds my friend
Have I got no merry times in grand
Those birds high up the sky
Have got not much to cry
Beautiful and all they witness
fancy and all my goodness
Every cloud's got a silver lining
         Dreams of good times dawning
Come to me now, I pray
It's about time, it's about time

Have I still got it?

I haven't really written a word for a long time now.... I use to love how letters on the keyboard could do it's miracle forming words and words enrolling to become sentences. But of all, I have always fancied the sound of keys, rattling one after the other on my computer. Faster they were better I felt and better the writing became. I really miss the feeling.

May be I have been too busy caught up doing other things or may be I have lost the thing about writing. But again why is it lost? Answers are numerous yet not particular. Lack of consistency is the appropriate factor that lead to close my writing temporarily. Now no more, I say!

If there is anything I love, then it's the feeling or more appropriately the satisfaction I get after finishing a piece. I know I have lot to learn before I could actually author a book and it's going to take me a good many years. But still, I believe it isn't impossible. It's all about dedication to keep writing, I suppose....

shy to leave

It won't be long before I bid my generous good bye to this old and dear place.
The feelings are all mixed. Some of me says that I should be happy for leaving to a better place,
while the other reciprocate the attachment evenly.
It was all good and merry during my stay and soon will have to cherish just memories of it.
Like they say, life is all about meeting and departing. Nothing is permanent.
It is just a matter of time, for all I know.
Rugged may be the place when new
But once the calling happens
Its the mind that suffers scilently, despite the body's luxuary
Have I stayed too long? I wonder
For it feels like yesterday that I have come
Or am I leaving too soon? I doubt
For the moons that I have seen plenty
Then why so empty? I feel
I dont know answers my mind shyly
Fare well my old mates
You all have hansomely made my day, when in here
As the time ticks by, will cherish you loving folk's company
Endlessly. So fare well
